A portrait of a mysterious female figures of European prehistory.

The Shaman Woman of Bad Dürrenberg is one of the most remarkable female figures of European prehistory : a woman buried around 9,000 years ago in what is now Germany, with an exceptionally rich grave and signs of a special ritual or social status. Painted with pigments inspired by prehistoric cosmetic materials such as red ochre, this portrait honours her not as a relic of the past, but as an ancestral presence whose power still reaches forward.
