Art collective

"Join us on a journey into the depths of the psyche and beyond, as our art collective explores the transformative power of ritual, inviting audiences to delve into the unknown."

In the core of our artistic practice, we aim to reconnect with the primal forces of ancient rituals, myths, and symbols. We believe in the enduring significance of these expressions of the collective subconscious, that we find in stories, sacred places, and folk traditions.

While traveling, we conduct interviews, participate in rituals and immerse ourselves in experiences, to later transform and transmute these energies into paintings, performances and film.

This concept is also reflected in our artistic process: classic oil painting meets AI technology, rituals are performed in nightclubs and archaic incantations are spoken by voice generators.

Maison Douce is an art collective from Germany, run by Lotte Hauss & Marc T. Suess.

Lotte Hauss

Lotte Hauss’ old masterly paintings, felted sculptures, and mysterious installations are offerings, amplifying the holy. Her art is a portal to connect to the eternal cosmic forces, and an invitation to step out of the personal into the realm of eternity.

“MY ART IS A DIALOGUE BETWEEN LIFE, DEATH, AND BEAUTY, MY MORTAL HEART AND THE ETERNAL COSMIC FORCES.”

After her diploma in sculpture and painting (Class of Mat Mullican, HFBK Hamburg) and her Meister student in painting (Prof. Adamski, HFBK Dresden), today she makes no difference between performing art or magic. Making art is a ritual, she serves as a medium, a priestess, transmitting what comes through into paintings, poems, and performances.

Marc T. Suess

Marc T. Suess is a multidisciplinary artist, musician, and creative director who uses storytelling and creativity to connect with audiences. He runs a design studio, produces podcasts, and teaches at the Berlin School of Popular Arts.

MY SERIES OF “CONTEMPORARY CAVE PAINTINGS” ARE A CROSS-POLLINATION OF ABSTRACT AND STREET ART, PRIMITIVISM, AND POP CULTURE.”

“Meet Maison Douce”

(Interview with Canvas Rebel, Dec 8th 2023)

Excerpt: “What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

Connections. To the past, present and future. To traditions and new technologies. To the most foreign, weird and f*cked up ideas, as well as to pop culture and the Zeitgeist. To every experience coming your way, good or bad, as being part of a creative journey. The playful and the divine. The whole world and the great big fat lurking nothingness. But most of all, connection to yourself and other people.”
