Hexe von Endor Portrait – Artwork
Oil paint on canvas. 40 × 40 cm, 2026.
She appears at the edge of sacred order: feared, forbidden, and impossible to dismiss.
The Witch of Endor holds a special place in our work as a female archetype whose power is not erased, but feared, sought out, and acknowledged. In 1 Samuel 28, King Saul goes to her precisely because she is understood to possess access to forbidden knowledge; the text warns against her practice, yet does not reduce her to fraud or ornament, and that tension makes her one of the most striking female figures in the biblical imagination.
“The Witch of Endor stands, for us, as a heroine of dangerous female knowledge.”
