A beautiful visitation

Thank you to everyone who crossed the threshold and came by in our open studio on the weekend.

For one afternoon, the room became something else: a small chapel of paper, ink, gold, flowers, wine, noise, children, old friends, new strangers, and the strange electricity that appears when people gather around objects made by hand.

We presented our new limited edition lino print series Three Studies on Love for the first time.

Three images. Three small rituals.

LOVE — two swans circling one another in black and white, their beaks touched with gold leaf.
TRUST — a blindfolded Madonna-like figure, crowned with an apple and Cupid’s arrow, somewhere between faith, danger and surrender.
TEMPTATION — peonies in bloom, dark and excessive, available in black and white or hand-colored red.

They are all hand-pulled lino prints on A3 paper, with an A4 image area, numbered, limited to 99 pieces, and finished with the Maison Douce embossed seal.

Some of the first prints left the studio that day and found their new homes. That is always a quiet miracle: an image made in solitude begins its second life somewhere else.
